Sister Leticia De Jesus Rodriguez, the appointed treasurer of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, has led the congregation's transition towards impact investing as the head of a special committee since 2017. To embrace the mission-aligned financial journey, they counted on the assistance of Jessica Cook, a long-term board member of CIIC and the Managing Director of Business Development at an investment management firm.
The Ireland-based Kiltegan Fathers of the St. Patrick Missionary Society are amongst the followers worldwide to answer Pope Francis's call upon the Church and the global community to acknowledge everyone's responsibility to care for the planet.
Last month, we announced that Bishop Felipe Estévez has joined CIIC’s Advisory Board. Bishop Felipe Estévez currently serves as the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine, Florida and has focused his ministry work on family life, youth, campus, prison and respect life ministries, as well as all church movements and new communities. Since the late 1980s and early 1990s, Dominican Congregations have been engaging companies on the issue of global warming. Today on the blog we are pleased to share the story of the Dominican Sisters in the USA who worked to develop their own Climate Solutions Fund, the first climate finance investment of its kind and the first ever climate impact investing-focused fund at Morgan Stanley.
