Elizabeth Garlow (Chair)

Elizabeth is a community-builder, investment strategist, and writer focused on the intersection of spirituality, investing, and economic systems change. She currently serves on the Stewardship Committee for the Catholic Impact Investing Collaborative. Previously, she co-founded the Francesco Collaborative to advance the vision of Pope Francis’ Economy of Francesco movement through the lens of investments with faith-based institutions. Prior to launching Francesco Collaborative, Elizabeth led impact investing for Lumina Foundation and managed community development initiatives under President Obama. Elizabeth is currently a fellow at New America and is combining research and practice to collaboratively advance the impact investing journeys of congregations of women religious. She is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and holds an MPA from Princeton University. In 2019, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Dominical School of Philosophy and Theology for her work with the Economy of Communion and Economy of Francesco initiatives to build a more just economy.

Kayoko Lyons
Director of Investments, Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Kayoko Lyons is the Director of Investments for the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Prior to this role she worked at MicroVest Capital Management, an impact investing fund, and for JPMorgan Chase. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, a MA in International Economics and Development from the Johns Hopkins University – Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

John O'Shaughnessy
Treasurer & Chief Investment Officer, Franciscan Sisters of Mary

John O'Shaughnessy is Treasurer & Chief Investment Officer of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, a Roman Catholic congregation of women religious in St. Louis, and during his 30 years with the Sisters, he has served as financial advisor to several other Catholic congregations. John helped start the Catholic Impact Investing Collaborative in 2014 and is a board member and treasurer of the Laudato Si' Movement. He earned a BSBA from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, is a Certified Public Accountant and was previously a Registered Investment Advisor.


Bryan J. Pini
President, Mercy Investment Services

Bryan J. Pini, CFA, is President of Mercy Investment Services, the asset management program for the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and its ministries. Bryan served as President and Chief Investment Officer from the organization’s inception in 2007 until 2023. Prior to joining Mercy Investment Services, Bryan was the Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer of Saint Louis University. His previous roles also include the Director of Finance and Administration for the Jewish Federation of St. Louis and the Director of Treasury Services for Sisters of Mercy Health System. Bryan holds a BS in Accounting from Bradley University and a Master of Business Administration (specializing in Finance) from Washington University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of numerous professional and community organizations.
